Service the following room, which is
needed immediately for a late arriving guest.
Beds are unmade; coffee has been spilt on
the sheets and has seeped through to the mattress. The coffee has also stained
the carpet. The bathroom has been used and there is nail polish on the basin.
The person from reception rings insisting that you hurry up and finish cleaning
the room. Describe how you would respond to your colleague. Explain the
cleaning agents you would use to clean the surfaces in the
room.
Your housekeeping storage area is due for
its regular clean up. Clean the area and all the equipment used by housekeeping
staff. Check all items, complete routine maintenance checks and note any items
you feel should be reported to management.
Prepare a bathroom in readiness for a
visitor at your home. Ensure you follow all appropriate hygiene and safety
procedures.
You are required to clean the restaurant
and public toilets after a long lunch service period. You have thirty minutes
to complete the cleaning process before a group arrives for early dinner. You
need to work in co-operation with your food and beverage colleague who is
resetting the restaurant for dinner. Describe how you would successfully
complete the process.
You need to train a new staff member on
cleaning procedures in your business. Tell the person about the processes you
use, paying specific attention to health and safety issues that need to be
considered and the equipment and chemicals you use to clean various types of
surfaces (surfaces to be specified as required by enterprise).
You are required to clear and clean the
conference room in your establishment. The room has been set up classroom
style, afternoon tea has been served and food and beverage has been spilled on
the floor. Select the correct equipment and cleaning agents and complete this
