Information using the
TAB
KEY
The RULER BAR is located underneath the
TOOLBAR has settings every .25mm or ¼ inch. If you press the TAB KEY on
the keyboard it stops at every one of these settings. If you want to type on the
left margin and then the next time you press the TAB KEY you stop further over
the page you make a TAB SETTING. This eliminates the need to keep pressing the
TAB KEY to get there. Time consuming and un-necessary. By making the TAB
SETTING where you want it you need only press the TAB KEY once.
Tabs are used to keep your work in a
direct line underneath each other. This is called INDENTING, as you can see
below after each number the words come direct in line underneath. If you use
the SPACE BAR on the keyboard you do not get a perfect indenting as each letter
is a different shape, but by using the TAB KEY it prevents that. You can set
the TABS to stop anywhere you like.
By using the decimal TAB it lines the
decimal point first and adjusts the numbers either side so they are in perfect
alignment.
Instructions for creating the dessert
menu
1 Point mouse at
FORMAT on MENU
BAR and click.
2 Point mouse at
TABS and
click.
3 Cursor should be flashing in
box.
4 Type in 11 then click on
DECIMAL
then Leader 2.
5 Click on
SET then
OK.
6 Type information on the next page. After you type in
Mango Torte and Lime Sherbet press ENTER then type in next line and use your TAB
KEY on keyboard and type in $8.00 this will place in the LEADER
DOTS......
7 Cut and paste in each dessert as set out on next page
and at the end of each dessert use the TAB KEY on the keyboard and put in the
following prices:
