Introduction:
Tourism is an industry centred on providing customer service. This means that the majority of jobs available in this industry require that employees have good customer service skills. We need to consider two (2) types of customers. They are (1) internal and (2) external customers.
Internal customers are those with whom we deal in order to get the job done. They could be your work colleagues, or people who work for other companies or organisations that your company deals with.
External customers are the reason the company or organisation you work for is in business. They are the ones paying for the service your company provides, and this makes them very important. Your internal customers are, however, also important because you wouldn't be able to get the job done without them. This means that we must treat both types of customers with all due respect.
