Texstyle is an annual exhibition of Major Textile Projects. Texstyle 2002 was exhibited at The Cotton Store in Darling Harbour from the 5th December 2002 until 14th March 2003.
Students completing Textiles and Design for their Higher School Certificate are required to complete a Major Textile Project. Students can select to make a textile item from one of five focus areas:
The Major Textile Project, which includes the textile item and the supporting documentation, is worth 50 marks.
Major Textile Projects selected for Texstyle represent a variety of focus areas. All projects, which were selected, are of a high standard for their textile item and supporting documentation. For a textile item to be selected it must demonstrate a high standard of manufacture and a high degree of creativity and/or innovation. The supporting documentation must communicate the steps undertaken by the student to complete the project in a way that is logical. Quality presentation is important. Students may use an A3 folder or A4 folder.
