Design inspiration

When marking the MTP, do the markers solely incorporate the design inspiration from the supporting documentation throughout the garment, or do they use their own expectation of it, if it is common?

Can you please give me an example of what I could write to address the following from the Design inspiration section of the supporting documentation:

"Explains the relationship of the design inspiration to historical/cultural/contemporary factors that have influenced the design of the item/s".

The markers know nothing of your MTP, so when they come to mark it they are relying totally on what you are communicating to them through your supporting documentation. If done well, what you write will be mirrored in your textile item. Don't leave the marker wondering why you chose a certain colour, style, decorative technique, etc. It should all be explained in your supporting documentation.

The Textiles and Design syllabus (page 36) states that under Design inspiration you need to include the "relationship to historical/cultural or contemporary factors". The word or tells you that you don't have to address all three, so only do those that relate to your design work.

Some examples:
Historical
The style of my bodice takes inspiration from the designs of women's clothing in 18th century England.

The fastening of my skirt was inspired by the techniques used in the clothing of Ancient Rome.

Cultural
I was inspired by the Japanese ju-ni-hitoe traditional court outfit to design the layered feature of my neckline.

The embroidery on my evening bags was inspired by the decoration techniques used extensively on Indian wedding saris.

Contemporary
I fashioned my top on the style shown by the character Kath on the Logies presentation program this year.

I was inspired by the green movement's pledge to encourage the use of environmentally friendly fibres to use hemp in the creation of my backpack.

Note: You would need to elaborate on these points, and be sure to include well-labelled pictures.
