Personal Identity:

Sample writing tasks

Task 1

You are a new student at a school in a Spanish-speaking country. Write your speech notes, of about 150–200 words in Spanish, to introduce yourself to your new class.

You may wish to talk about where you come from, what your “old” life was like and why you have come to this new school.

Task 2

You will be travelling to your family’s country of origin. Write a letter of about 150–200 words in Spanish to your relatives informing them of the date and time of your arrival and your flight number.

Provide a detailed description of yourself so they can recognise you at the airport.

Tell them a little about your likes and dislikes, what you are interested in doing and seeing while you are there.

Make sure they know how much you are looking forward to this visit.
