Sample answer
Oswaldo used to be a good student but he isn’t studying and is truanting. They have an interview with the principal next Monday, as he has been notified that his place at school is in jeopardy. The mother is desperate.
He’s always out and never thinks of the family. There is no communication. She feels that the whole family is suffering. He has changed and the mother is worried about him. He never used to give them trouble.
They had hoped he would go to university, as education is all-important to her. However, Oswaldo wants to travel around Australia for a year instead. This would cost a lot of money, which he doesn’t have and would have to borrow from his parents. She resents the idea of giving him her savings for an “irresponsible” trip.
She doesn’t like his girlfriend and thinks she is a bad influence as she left school at 15 and has plenty of money to throw around.
