Identifying rural safety hazards activity

The purpose of this activity is for you to walk around your school, farm or workplace, look carefully and try to see if you can identify any safety hazards. Then you will need to think about and discuss what strategies you could use to alter or control the hazards that you have identified.

Any hazards that you find need to be reported to the employer/supervisor and recorded. All the proposed strategies need to be listed.

The different sections of the workplace that can be observed carefully are:

  1. The farm workshop
  2. The chemical store
  3. Animals on the farm
  4. The farm machinery shed
