Machinery, equipment and tools

Machinery is the most significant hazard in the Primary Industries. Accidents with tractors and other machinery account for 25 percent of deaths on farms. Post drivers, post hole diggers attached to tractors, chainsaws and atom borers present the most serious and potentially fatal hazards when fencing.

Machinery can also pose a significant risk due to extreme noise levels.

The sharp edges of hand tools can cause flesh injuries especially if used carelessly or incorrectly.
