Yellow River (Huang He)

Keiran Parker from Armidale High School, submitted Yellow River for his HSC in 2000. The following excerpts from his composition portfolio demonstrate aspects of his composition process.

The initial stimulus for the composition was provided by Kieran's research into the music of Hans-Martin Linda. The influences are evident in the style of notation, the free treatment of rhythm and metre and in the expressive techniques being explored.
