Sample answer: The male speaker is probably a student. He talks about "summer holidays". The woman suggests youth hostels as the best option for accommodation, as it's cheap (a consideration for a student) and you can make lots of friends (again probably a relevant factor for a young person).

Sample answer: It only rained for one day, even though it was June (rainy season). She enjoyed Nagasaki most of all because there weren't as many people as in Tokyo and Kyoto and there were lots of hills and places with pretty scenery.

Sample answer: Her hobby is collecting antiques, so she wants to buy old kimonos, dolls and plates. The cheapest place to buy these things is in front of temples at the market, which is held on the tenth and twenty first of each month. In order to do this, she will have to plan her itinerary around these dates.

Sample answer: The return tickets were cheaper (68,400 yen) as opposed to the one way tickets (36,200 yen which would be 72,400 yen both ways), so she bought the return ones.
