Sample task 1

This is a part A type question. (4 marks)

You are on exchange in Japan. You are supposed to meet a Japanese friend after school but you are running late. Send a SMS message and let him/her know. Write approximately 100ji in Japanese.

The following is taken from the NSW Board of Studies Japanese Beginners 2008 HSC Specimen Examination Package.

In your answers you will be assessed on how well you:

demonstrate relevance of ideas, information or opinions
write texts appropriate to context, purpose and audience
sequence and structure information and ideas
demonstrate control of a range of vocabulary and language structures, and of the conventions of the writing system.
