About the examination

You will not be assessed on this section externally. However, it is part of your internal assessment exam.

This section is worth 10 marks in the internal assessment.

The questions set should be related to the themes and contemporary issues listed in the syllabus.

Preparing for the examination

The best way to prepare for the exam is to practise. Take every opportunity to speak in Japanese in a variety of contexts.

Make sure you familiarise yourself with all the themes and contemporary issues listed in the syllabus.

Familiarise yourself with phrases and structures that are used regularly in relation to the themes and contemporary issues.

Try to identify possible questions relating to the themes and contemporary issues and practise answering these.

In the examination

Make sure you are well prepared so that you feel confident when you go in for your exam.

Make sure you know the themes and contemporary issues well.

Give as much information as possible and make sure you meet the examination requirements.
