In Australia, each year there is a growing interest in Italy and things Italian, not only because of its culture and economic development but because there is an Italian community based here. But the interest spreads beyond the Italian base into the broader Australian community.For example, the
Italian fashion industry is the most influential in Australia, as “Made in Italy” guarantees style and quality. Italian designers have a big presence amongst the high end clothing boutiques. Italian fashion accessories and jewellery are much admired as are leather goods. Home furnishings from Italy are a sign of elegance and distinction, luxury sports cars are greatly admired but Alfa and Fiat are more afforable.The Italian food industry has revolutionised Australian eating habits to the point where it is normal for spaghetti, olive oil, pizza, ice-cream and coffee to be  found in the households of ordinary Australians.
