Sample answer:
He thinks that parents prefer to leave their children with grandparents rather than unknown babysitters, benefiting the parents. He believes that both grandchildren and grandparents can profit from the holiday relationship. The grandparents can show the grandchildren places where they know the history. They have lots of affection to give and lots of things to tell the grandchildren. They can be wonderful friends and they can do things together that the children can’t do alone. The grandchildren, on the other hand, can learn to prepare grandma’s biscuits or can learn how to fish or collect shells from Grandpa.
So, the writer believes that this relationship is beneficial to all parties, and therefore is a supporter of grandparents looking after their grandchildren during the holidays.
