Introduction

A banking business is presented to provide a context for the documentation of a simple relational database. The bank has many customers who open and maintain one or more accounts. For each customer, the bank keeps a record of their name and address. The customer ID is a unique identifier or primary key.

All accounts are assigned a unique account number. The account can either be checking (cheque) or savings. A savings account can earn interest but the only transactions allowed are deposits and withdrawals.
