Writing activities
In your answers you will be assessed on how well you demonstrate:
- relevance of the treatment of ideas, information or opinions
- accuracy of vocabulary and sentence structures
- variety of vocabulary and sentence structures
- capacity to structure and sequence responses.
Activity 1 (5 marks)
You are an exchange student in Indonesia. Write a message of 50 – 100 words in Indonesian to your host mother explaining that you will not be home until late tonight. Describe your activities and provide any necessary information for your host mother so that she will not be worried about you.
Activity 2 (10 marks)
You are an exchange student in Indonesia. You have been asked to make a speech to your Indonesian class, explaining how young people in Australia entertain themselves. Write the script of your talk of 150 – 200 words in Indonesian.
Activity 3 (10 marks)
You have just spent a week in an Indonesian village as part of a scholarship program. Write a report of 150 - 200 words in Indonesian, describing your stay and encouraging your fellow students to apply for the scholarship. This report will be published in your school newsletter.
