When you were at school, did you plan for this type of work? When I was at school I had an excellent farm mechanics teacher, and enjoyed metalwork. I disliked some of the other subjects, e.g. English. When I finished year 10, I spoke to my father, who said if I got an apprenticeship I could leave school. Six weeks later I received an apprenticeship as a fitter and turner. The trade has been great, and if I was 16 again I would do it again.
