A product may be defined as anything that can be offered to a market for attention, acquisition, consumption or use, that may satisfy the needs or wants of customers. A product is usually tangible - something you can see, touch, smell.
It may include physical objects such as a toaster or microwave and is usually owned by the purchaser. A product may also include people, places, organisations, and activities.

Not every establishment could, or would want to, offer all products. Each establishment therefore chooses the most appropriate product mix for the type of customer they are trying to attract. The product mix is the assortment of products, services and facilities that an establishment chooses to offer to customers.
