THHCOR03B Follow health, safety and security procedures
This unit deals with the skills and knowledge required to follow health, safety and security procedures. This unit applies to all individuals working in the hospitality industry in a range of work environments.
These workers need to be able to:
- follow common correct health, safety and security procedures for hospitality and tourism workplaces
- identify individual responsibilities in relation to maintaining workplace health safety and security requirements and compliance to legislation
- plan and organise safe work techniques
- identify potential hazards or breaches of safe work practices
- deal with a hazardous or emergency situation.
This unit has links with THHGHS01B Follow workplace hygiene procedures and will require an understanding of personal and professional hygiene.
Elements of competency
- Follow workplace procedures for health, safety and security.
- Deal with emergency situations.
- Maintain safe personal presentation standards.
- Provide feedback on health, safety and security.
