What are mailing lists
A mailing list (or discussion list) is a "group chat" that is conducted via e-mail. People can share their ideas about a variety of topics through mailing lists.
There are two types of lists:
Discussion lists - They allow exchange between list members and messages are posted to all people on the mailing list.
Announcement lists - The user will receive emails regularly but will not have the opportunity to post messages.
To participate in a mailing list you have to send a request to a list server.
