Sample answer: Responsible parents don't like them - Britney because of her sexy appearance and Eminem because of his provocative lyrics. However, because they don't live in Germany, German parents haven't been as worried.

Sample answer: Although he is a rap singer with explicit lyrics, he is polite, interested and pleasant during interviews. He only displays typical rap artist behaviour when he is deliberately trying to be controversial but he admits to this. His album is really positive, the German language doesn't sound so harsh when combined with the rhythm he uses in his music and his lyrics sound better than most other Hip-Hop albums.

Sample answer: As a child, Jeanette worked in a circus and karaoke shows, before landing a role in a TV series, the dream of many teenagers. She achieved fame when she won first prize in a singing competition organised by the Bild newspaper and the prize was a contract with a record company. Now she is a household name amongst teenagers and millions of them read about her regularly. Given her parents couldn't even afford singing lessons for her when she was a child, and now she can afford her own voice trainer, many people would see her rise to fame as being like a fairytale.

Task 2
In this question you are required to read an advertisement for a competition. You have to show you understand this written text by identifying and analysing the relevant information contained in it. You then have to write a report for a competition of 150—200 words in German.
The question provided you with:
- a purpose: a report for a competition
- a context: family celebrations and
whether they are important or out of date
- an audience: the judges for the competition.
To answer this question you should write a report about family celebrations.
This should include:
- an account of family celebrations in your household,
(concentrating on one particular celebration if you wish to
do so). You could also have included anything which does or
doesn't go smoothly.
- whether such celebrations are important to you and why
- if you would be happy to do without family celebrations.
The article also suggests that family celebrations may be a thing of the past and that they are old-fashioned and sentimental. You might therefore include a reference to this in your answer if you feel it is relevant.
Although the points given follow the order in which the issues were raised in the text, you do not necessarily have to use the same order in your response. However, you must ensure that your answer flows logically.
