Food Technology resources for the NSW HSC Online are based in the 2010 amended syllabus.
Recent syllabus amendments include the introduction of a new Core Strand, Contemporary Nutrition Issues, focusing on diet and health in Australia and influences on nutritional status.
The HSC course now compriese four Core Strands each worth 25%. The Core strands are:
The Australian Food Industry
Food Manufacture
Food Product Development
Contemporary Nutrition Issues
HSC FOOD TECHNOLOGY EXAMINATION
The examination will consist of four sections.
There will be approximately equal weighting of each of the four core strands across the examination as a whole. Questions may require students to integrate knowledge, understanding and skills developed through studying the entire course, rather than focusing on a particular core strand.
