Priorities activity

You are setting up a venue for a small conference. There will be a presenter who will use a laptop for a power point display and will use video clips from a DVD. Part of the entertainment during the conference will be a singer who will perform to a backing CD. The venue has a built-in PA system and some parcans permanently mounted on a lighting bar.

List the following tasks in order of priority.

Set up chairs and tables for conference guests
Set up the portable staging for the presenters and performer
Set up a lectern with a gooseneck microphone
Put a microphone on a stand on the podium for the singer
Focus the lights above the podium
Set up the screen for the presentations
Turn on the laptop and DVD player
Turn on the data projector
Check the in-house CD player is patched into the PA system
Patch the laptop and DVD player to the vision switcher
Patch the vision switcher to the data projector
Set up a small foldback speaker to the PA system and set it up in front of the staging and connect to the PA system
Check the audio desk is receiving signal from the microphones
Check microphones and CD signals are coming through front of house and foldback speakers
Check vision switcher is working properly
Patch microphones into the in house stage box
