Industry codes and practices

Industry codes and practices are guidelines used by organisations within an industry. They are a practical guide to help employers and employees reach the level of safety mandated by the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2000 and OHS Regulation 2001.  ‘An Employer Guide to Occupational Health and Safety in the Entertainment Industry’ has been developed by the Australian Entertainment Industry Association (AEIA) and funded by WorkCover NSW. This document is a guideline and not enforceable by law, although it is currently being assessed and if approved will become an Approved Code of Practice. The Entertainment Industry Code of Fair Practice applies to the promotion, ticket sales and staging of events where an entry charge is made. This code is published by the NSW Office of Fair Trading and was developed in consultation with the following entertainment industry associations:
