  • The Australian Museum has displays relevant to Earth and Environmental Science from time to time and also has information online. Go to the home page to get the latest information.

  • The NSW Minerals Council
    This organisation provides free teachers tours of mining operations in NSW. Secondary teaching and learning materials, including written, video and multimedia packages, are available for use by teachers and students of science. Rock collections, with explanatory notes, are also available. The Council’s education team periodically arranges field trips for students and teachers.
    
    Minerals industry publications, relating to research and general information, are usually available free on request for students. Many of these cover Australia's mineral and energy resources, the nature and importance of the industry and current issues impacting on the industry.
    
    The education section of the Minerals Council's web site has a range of useful resources, including a virtual tour of the Cadia Hill Gold Mine, located near Orange, a Seaham Quarry tour and some information about the Bengalla Coal Mine.

• The Earth and Environmental Science section of the UniServe Science.

• UniServe Science , a site maintained by Sydney University, seeks to enhance the quality of university and school science teaching by maintaining and disseminating information on up-to-date and innovative materials for use throughout Australia. The site also publishes reviews, criticism and ideas related to teaching and learning materials for science. It is a great starting point if you or your students are seeking information on syllabus content. The site has recommended module-specific links.

• Geoscience Australia (GA) Resources are available for both earth science and environmental science. Access information at the GA web site.
• The Marine Education Society of Australasia Inc -MESA has information for the option Oceanography as well as general information on environmental issues.
