How will the project be evaluated?
HSC Outcomes
H1.2 relates the practices and processes of designers
and producers to the major design project
H4.2 selects and uses resources responsibly and safely to realise
a quality major design project
H4.3 evaluates the processes undertaken and the impacts of
the major design project
H5.1 manages the development of a quality major design project
Project Evaluation should not be the last thing done. Evaluation is something
that will continue throughout the project. It is important also for students
to show how the results of this on-going evaluation have been applied to the
final solution. Final evaluations are also made in relation to aspects of design,
impacts and the criteria for success identified in the project proposal.
- Record the on-going evaluations and application to the project as they happen eg.use a different colour/ paper/ font/ layout to show the examiners that the evaluation is happening as the project progresses.
- Analyse and evaluate the functional and aesthetic aspects of the design
- Conduct a final evaluation of the solution in terms of its impact on the individual, society and the environment eg. keep a record of materials used and their environmental costs in life cycle terms
- Analyse the relationship of the product, system or environment to the criteria for success identified in the project proposal
