This jeweller in particular was very positive about my designs and gave me some very helpful suggestions re finishing my work and attaching the brooch findings.

I did my work experience here back in Year 10 and he was very pleased with my work then and has offered to help me since. I value his opinion highly and hold him in high regard. His own design work is outstanding.

I wanted to show him my almost completed designs to get his opinion about them and how best to finish them off and polish them. It was his idea to do the sand blasting. As I had not done this before and obviously the school doesn’t have these facilities, I went in to his workshop in the city to do this work.

He is very patient and kind. He also taught me how to attach the special brooch findings on the back of the brooches and how to make the pin to fasten them onto garments.
