Stillness is an element of time often under-used in major study composition. It is a powerful device to use when working with two or three dancers.
Stillness can communicate a range of meanings. For
example:
Activity
1. Consider your work in progress. What meaning can
stillness communicate in relation to your intent?
2. Explore places for stillness in phrases and
sequences.
3. Explore the transitions into and out of
stillness.
4. Explore the quality of the stillness. Is it "lifeless",
"tense", "hovering"?
