The major study work requires the
application of thematic considerations. This is how it differs from the core
performance dance.
A general explanation of this is that the work has a meaning. In this sense, interpretation links the performance of technique to interpreting the meaning and performance quality of the work.
The manipulation of the elements for two
to three dancers indicates that the choreographer should explore all the
elements of dance as they relate to the compositional process for a small
group.
It includes the notion that the motif and phrases are seen and manipulated in the groupings of dancers, as well as in individual dancers.
A dance artist is considered seminal to their particular era when their works and ideas influence the development of dance.
