Jumps and aerial work
When developing jumps or aerial work, all the elements of the jump must be considered in the lead-up to the execution. Most exercises will be executed in the centre; however, it can also be useful to consider the floor for some strength-building exercises or the barre to aid in developing the kinaesthetic awareness of a body in flight and articulation whilst performing.

In all tasks there should always be a
consideration and awareness of safe dance practices and alignment. Aerial work
can often demand a high order of strength, control and alignment, so students
need to be aware of the developmental nature of jumps and aerial
work.
