This unit specifies the competency required to safely manually handle store materials, and apply environmental management principles associated with construction materials and components.
It includes the preparation of materials for mechanical handling.
Before undertaking this unit, you should already know something about:
- OH&S requirements relating to construction work
- work method statements
- job safety analysis
- material safety data sheets (MSDS)
- construction terminology
- reading and interpreting plans
- quality requirements
- environmental requirements
- using a calculator to do addition and subtraction
- basic measuring and marking
