| Architect | Someone who is qualified to design buildings and supervise their construction |
| Builder | A person (or company) who constructs a building according to plans. |
| Client | A person (or company) who pays for a building to be constructed. |
| Construction Manager | A person employed by the builder to negotiate and ensure the smooth completion of the project to the appropriate standard. |
| Engineer | Someone qualified to design and supervise the construction and installation of electrical, mechanical or structural parts of a project. |
| Foreman | The person responsible to the project manager for all workplace operations, materials and labour. Works to ensure smooth operation of all aspects of the project. |
| Developer | A person or company purchasing land for development and sale. |
| Project Manager | A person who co-ordinates the architect and the project management to ensure that budgets, specifications, schedules and procedures are all maintained. |
| Sub-Contractor | A person or company carrying out work on the project for the builder. They are responsible to and paid by the builder. |
