Bryan Corrigan: beef seedstock producer and marketer
Bryan and his wife Lucinda produce and market commercial Angus bulls on their Riverina property, Renny Lea. Their bull production has been so successful that they won the inaugural Land newspaper seedstock producer award.
The bulls that Bryan produces are bought by beef producers throughout Australia who wish to improve their herds. Bryan uses a variety of technologies to assist him produce high quality cattle. These technologies include:
- artificial insemination
- oestrus synchronisation
- embryo transfer
- estimated breeding values (EBVs)
- herd recording and benchmarking.
Bryan and Lucinda use technical, management and financial advice from a variety of individuals and agencies to assist them to set targets, develop plans and evaluate outcomes.
They have two drops of calves each year, spring and autumn and sell bulls by private treaty twice a year. All bulls are herd tested, and Renny Lea is CattleCare accredited and a member of Johne's Market Assurance Program.
