(4 marks) Criteria Marks Provides a thorough description of a small business and a clear discussion of how it assists the Aboriginal Community(ies). 4 Gives a general overview of a small business and a brief mention of how it promotes Aboriginal people's interests. 2-3 States the name of an Indigenous small business. 1 Using your Local Aboriginal Community and International Community Case Studies, compare how Indigenous people are striving to gain their independence. (12 marks) Criteria Marks Identifies two communities and presents a balanced argument. Comprehensively compares and evaluates the programs/initiatives that foster independence/self determination. Specific examples are given to support argument 10-12 Clearly identifies two communities and presents a balanced response. Competently compares at least two programs or business initiatives from each case study. Shows sound understanding of how Indigenous people are striving to independence and self-determination. 7-9 Identifies two communities. Describes at least one program or initiative. Some understanding of independence and how Indigenous communities are striving towards it. 4-6 Identifies one community. Some relevant information on how Indigenous peoples are striving to gain their independence. 1-3
